TresRios is a family owned and operated lodge with the highest standards of service in the area, famous for personal attention on the water and in the lodge. TresRios is the expression of the owners’ passion and dedication to fly fishing and hospitality. We organize other adventure activities with specialists in each field (rafting, biking, etc) as a courtesy to our non-angling guests.

We are extremely flexible in helping you with your program in terms of rates, length of stay, days of arrival and departure, special menus, and the like. You don’t have to fit into a “package” with us, rather we will make a customized program for you.

Rates

Anglers 6 days fishing/7 nights run $3600. Add or subtract days at $575.

Non-Anglers 6 days / 7 nights at $1800. Add or subtract days at $275.

Prices are per person, double occupancy. We do not charge for arrival and departure days if time does not permit fishing. Come and go any day of the week and stay as long as you want. Payment by check to a US address.

We provide all ground transportation from the time you arrive at Puerto Montt airport until you leave from there, all meals, all drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks, bottled water, cocktails), lodgings, guided float fishing.

For travelers to Chile going a la carte, organizing car rental, hotels, restaurants, etc. on their own, TresRios usually can offer Fishing Excursions with their expert guides on a daily basis at $350 per day. Excursions include guided fishing float trips for two anglers with lunch and beverages, and transportation to and from Ensenada. Gear, flies, waders, and transportation from/to Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt available at nominal additional costs.

 

You should bring: waders, wading boots, wading belt, hat, long sleeve light colored shirt, sunscreen, raingear, and clothing in layers as the weather changes abruptly at times.

For streams: 3-4 wt rod with floating line. 9’ 2X leader. spools 2X, 3X tippet. Royal Wulff 12, 14. Parachute caddis 14. Humpy 12,14. Foam beetles. A sample of your favorite caddis nymph, pupa, and soft hackle patterns

For rivers: 5-6 wt rod with floating and 150-250 grain express sinking tip or full sink, and/or type IV-VI sinking tip lines. Kiwi & marabou muddlers, olive, natural, size 6,4; Near´nuff Sculpin, olive, size 6 Clousers, olive, tan, white, size 4,6; Zoo Cougar size 4,6; Butt Monkey, size 4; Strip Leech, olive, yellow, black, size 4,6; Wooly bugger, Crystal rubber bugger, olive, black, size 6, w & w/o coneheads. Spool 1X, 2X fluorocarbon tippet.

For lakes 5-6 wt rod with floating and type IV-VI sinking tip or full sink or intermediate camo lines. Dragonfly and damselfly nymphs and dries, Madam X, size 6, 8, 10; Chernobyl ant. Spool 3X fluorocarbon tippet.

For salmon: 6-7 wt rod with 200-300 grain express sinking tip or full sink lines. Egg sucking crystal bugger, egg sucking bunny leech, psycho leech, hareball leech; purple, black, chartreuse, fuschia. Size 4. Spool 0X, 1X fluorocarbon tippet.

We can provide all gear for a few anglers as well as waders for shoe size 9-11.

We fish in 4 rivers, 8 streams, 2 lakes, 2 smaller alpine lakes, 1 lagoon, 1 spring creek and 2 estuaries.

We fish for rainbow, brown & brook trout; sea-run browns (seatrout); Atlantic, Chinook & Coho salmon.

We are 50 miles E. of Puerto Montt airport; 12 miles from the Lakes Crossing landing at Petrohué.

To get here one flies overnight to Santiago from the USA on American, LanChile, or Delta Connections from Santiago to Puerto Montt are by Lan Chile, making the flight in 1 hour and 40 minutes. We will meet you at the Puerto Montt airport and take you to the lodge, a scenic drive along the south shore of Lago Llanquihue. The route is paved, except for the last 5 minutes, and takes just under an hour. The remaining daylight, up to 22:00 in summer, can be spent as one chooses, winding down from the flights or straight out to the water on one of many half-day options. Early arrivers and late departers can get in a full day’s fishing on those days.

International flights run between $650 and $1300 coach from mid-US. Santiago-Puerto Montt-Santiago airfares run about $150. Car rentals start at about $35 a day.
